Room 232; then 2nd Floor Hallway and Stairwell, Tuesday Evening

Tony was out of clean laundry. This was fairly common, since he tended to wait until the last minute. Unfortunately, the last minute had been yesterday and he'd lost a load of t-shirts to the washer. He was really not looking forward to washing stuff in the sink.

Unless... He pulled out his laptop and looked through the spells. Yes! There was one for cleaning. Tony dumped his dirty laundry into a pile on the floor, focused his energy and cast the spell. Soap bubbles formed on the pile. He could hear a faint sounds of scrubbing and smell something that reminded him of dryer sheets. Success! He pumped his fist in triumph and flopped down on the bed to watch his clothes get clean.

Except the bubbles didn't stop. They grew, and skittered around the room, cleaning things. Tony sat up. "Crap!" He tried to grab the thread of the spell, but it slipped away from him. And then the bubbles slipped out the door.

[Open! Tag in if you want to be cleansed. The bubbles are heading down the second floor hallway and into the stairwell and will dissipate within half an hour. (Fandom time, not real time.)

They won't hurt anyone but they will clean off your makeup and hair products (including dye) and ruin any delicates or dry-clean only. They will leave you free of static cling, though.]

Joan took a detour down the second floor hallway after class. She stopped when she saw the bubbles. "This can't be good."

The bubbles surged up and pounced on her.

Tony ran out of his room. "Stop!" he yelled at the bubbles. They ignored him and continued cleansing Joan.

"Tony? What is going on?" Joan asked, trying to bat the bubbles away with no success.

The bubbles ignored her attempts to shoo them and continued scrubbing until they suddenly, apparently, decided that she was clean enough. Then they rolled off her and went back to cleaning the hallway.

"Uh," Tony said. "A spell. An accident. Are you okay?"

"I think so," Joan said. "Just a little damp."

"Sorry," Tony said. "I needed clean t-shirts and things kinda got out of control."

Joan chuckled. "Don't worry about it. I've got an extra set of clean clothes now."

Tony brightened a little. "Well, that's good, then? Have the machines stolen any of your stuff?"

"Not so far," Joan said. "But I didn't do my laundry this weekend."

"I'd advise waiting until the machines are off strike," Tony said. "Unless maybe there's a laundromat in town that's got non-union machines." He added quickly, "Not that I'm endorsing scabbing or anything."

"I'll take your advice under consideration," Joan teased. "I heard that the machines were doing wacky things. It shouldn't surprise me, I guess."

"Nah, we're veterans now," Tony smiled. "There's a whole batch of new kids to freak out."

Joan smirked. "I almost feel bad for them. But we all went through it."

Peter was taking the long way back to his room. He was lost in his thoughts, which is why he didn't notice anything strange until he walked right into the foam.

"The heck?"

The bubbles surged up his legs and swarmed over him, cleaning everything they could find.

"I'm really sorry!" Tony said. He still couldn't figure out how to control the bubbles so he'd settled for keeping an anxious eye on them.

Peter tried to hold still and hoped the bubbles wouldn't go anywhere too awkward. "So this wasn't me?"

Hey, he'd had powers manifest in stranger ways.

The bubbles finished cleaning Peter and scurried off him to continue cleaning the hallway.

"No, it's me," Tony said with a sigh. "I tried a spell to clean my laundry. I think I overcharged it."

"Oh." Peter watched the bubbles go. "Well on the plus side the hallway's never looked better."

"My room's clean, too," Tony said. "You okay? No harm done?"

Peter patted himself down. "Far as I can tell. You?"

"I'm fine," Tony said. What did you say to a guy who you'd just given a magical sponge bath? "So. Movie class. Should be fun."

"At this rate we may end up cleaner than our classmates," Peter said.

"True," Tony said. "At least the strike didn't happen over summer."

"I don't even want to imagine it," Peter said. "Though I suppose this is when the students from earlier times have the advantage over us."

"I guess they'd be more used to smelly people," Tony said. "You know, I have a friend who does his stuff by hand anyway? He doesn't trust the machines." He ran a hand through his hair. "Until now, I just thought he was paranoid."
